Have you been stuck in an atmospheric river of snow this winter and don’t know what to do? Have you and your partner reached that point where you should take the next step in your relationship? Well, don’t let the cold snowy weather stop you from having an amazing proposal! There are actually many really romantic ways to propose in the snow and The Heart Bandits proposal planners are here to help with some amazing proposal ideas. Lucky for you, we are using our years of experience and knowledge to help you and we have created a list of some helpful thoughts, ideas, and tips. Check out our ideas on how to propose in the snow below!
Write it in the Snow
One proposal idea with so many variations to it is writing the proposal in the snow. You can spell out the proposal message with items such as laser cut letters, pinecones, etc. You can lay the message right down on the snow. Or as we did in the example below, you can lay down red rose petals and place letters on top of it to really make it pop.
Romantic Picnic
You are probably thinking, how can you have a picnic in the snow? But for this idea, you can create a winterized picnic proposal. Be sure to put down plastic under the blanket so the blanket doesn’t get wet. Then have lots of pillows and blankets as part of the picnic so that you can keep warm. Instead of normal picnic food and beverage, have hot chocolate and sweets. If possible, have a bonfire nearby and roast s’mores. We have a package like this in NYC called our Winter Proposal Package which you can find on our New York Ideas page during the colder months here. On the proposal day, stumble upon this setup, propose, and then snuggle up as you celebrate.
Create a Path of Lights
Something about lights in snow is so romantic. Create a path of lights leading up to your proposal location and it will be super romantic. Below, you can see a proposal we planned in Vail, CO where we used candles in different jars and vases to create a romantic aisle leading to the proposal site.
Carriage Ride
Take a carriage ride through the snow and have your driver drop you off at a really romantic location for your proposal. Sit down, have some hot chocolate, and then pop the question!
Snow Castle
Have a snow castle made for your girlfriend. Tell her you want to go for a walk and then she will be blown away when she sees this snow castle. Make sure to add some personal touches so she knows the castle is for her.
Contrast With Rose Petals
Nothing looks more romantic than the color of red rose petals on bright white snow. You can create a heart shape with them or make an aisle. Another trend is sticking roses right into the snow and making it look like a rose garden in the winter.
