Nick’s Valentine’s Day Proposal Idea
Nick came to us because he wanted to plan a very romantic for his girlfriend Oyinade. Nick and Oyinade currently reside in California. However, she lived in New York for about 9 years before moving to Los Angeles in October 2020 previously and the city held such a special place in her heart. So Nick felt that NYC was the perfect place to propose.
We interviewed Nick to learn about their unique love story so that we could help him come up with the best proposal idea that would resonate with Oyinade. We learned that she is a huge fan of choirs and gospel music and she also loves the song Snoh Aalegra ‘Find someone like you’. In fact, this was the song that Oyinade sent Nick early in their relationship expressing her confidence that she believed she had finally met her soulmate. With all of this information, we were able to come up with the perfect proposal idea for this Nigerian Queen.
Nick wanted to propose on Valentine’s Day and Oyinade loves red roses. So we decided to rent out a gorgeous venue in Manhattan that had amazing views of the skyline. We filled the venue with red roses and florals, candles, and an arch with a red neon sign that said Happy Valentine’s Day.
When she walked in, she was completely blown away. A choir began to serenade her with their special song. Nick lead her over to a table that was surrounded by Valentine’s Day gifts. She took a seat and began opening the gifts. The final gift was an engagement ring! Nick dropped to his knee and proposed.
Planning Your Own Valentine’s Day Proposal Idea?
If you are planning your own Valentine’s Day proposal, there are pro’s and con’s. Let’s go over those!
Expensive
If you are going to plan a Valentine’s Day proposal, you have to come to terms with the fact that it is going to be more expensive. That’s because all vendors and venues charge a premium on this special date. This is all due to supply and demand. The venues charge a premium rate since they can likely only take a few client’s that day and so many people will want to book. Florals are usually triple the price. If you have the budget though, it could be well worth it.
Romantic
The reason it may be well worth it is because of how romantic a Valentine’s Day proposal is! I mean, come on….what is more romantic than getting engaged on the Day of Love?
Overbooked
If you are going to do a V-Day proposal, you need to start planning right away. That’s because it is going to be very difficult to find a venue due to so many locations being overbooked. A Proposal Planner will be able to use their network and get you into a perfect proposal location that others may not know about.
Memorable Date
Another great reason to propose on Valentine’s Day is that it is such a memorable date. That means every future Valentine’s Day, your partner is going to look back with fondness about the day you proposed.
Partner May Expect It
It’s true, your partner may expect a proposal on Valentine’s Day. But let’s be honest. If you are at this stage in your relationship, they probably will suspect a proposal on any special night out. The fact is, even if they think a proposal may be coming, they don’t know HOW you will propose.
