Whenever I tell people that I plan wedding proposals for a living, I get many different reactions. The younger generation normally says “Wow, that is awesome!” The old school folks always say the same thing……..”Whatever happened to the good old fashion just asking someone to marry you?” They don’t see why proposing has to be such a spectacle and why you can’t simply pop the question while sitting on the couch anymore. Well, technically you CAN still propose that way. But for those of you who don’t want your grandpa’s proposal, here are some characteristics of the New Age proposal:

Every year you will see new proposal trends emerging and a New Age proposal will typically incorporate something on trend. I am sure you’ve seen them all over social media. I am not saying that you have to spend a lot of money, but a New Age proposal is never free. The old school proposals were free because people just proposed right at home! You are going to want to have a budget for things like a venue or place to propose, decorations, meaningful props, a musician, photographer, or videographer.
It’s On Social
Almost all New Age proposals end up on social media. In fact, a lot of people start with that idea in mind. They know they want something that is going to be Insta-perfect. This is another reason why a New Age proposal is never free. And this is also why the next point is oh-so important.

A New Age proposal is always documented. As I mentioned, Social media is a big part of all of our lives now and we all want to share our special moments with our closest friends. Therefore if you want a New Age proposal you must document it whether it be with a videographer, a photographer, an artist to sketch it as it is happening, or just having a friend film it (although I don’t recommend this).
